Islam is a horrible ideology that stultifies mankind, brings progress to a shuddering halt on all fronts, and being based on the thing that it is, is absolutely incompatible with the modern world. It is an ideology that takes away democracy and the ability of man to make laws appropriate to society and instead demands that society must adhere to laws and in a number of cases stipulates punishments, that were dictated 1300 years ago.

I detest it and everything it represents and the more that people learn the facts and not the platitudes that they so often get presented with the more most people adopt the same opinion.

The process seems to run from an initial “what’s the deal? We’re all children of Abraham” to “there’s the fundamentalist lot, they’re the problem, they don’t follow true Islam” to a “I MUST be mistaken, it can’t be like that!” and finally “It IS like that! Why can’t people see it!”

This isn’t about people, it’s about an ideology that may have a place where it belongs, but certainly does NOT have a place in our modern society in spite of all its ills.

I don’t want to see my world dragged back to a set of rules and a morality that was appropriate to a part of the world of 1300 years ago when there was constant war between conflicting tribes. We’ve moved on.
