They did indeed create the situation-in more ways than one!

First of all we must bear in mind that these are not officially collated statistics but those published by a JEWISH charity which no doubt has a vested interested in making mountains out of mole hills.

I can guess the missing word but am surprised at your conclusion that the Jewish Board of Deputies helped create the situation. I would be interested to hear your reasoning so long as that reasoning is not so despicable that it would get you banned from this forum. That is not why I've asked you to explain your post!

I believe that during the 1950s they were involved in proposals for 'anti-defamation' legislation which, although never implemented, is claimed to have laid the foundations for the Race Relations Acts.

Most Jews I know are pretty right-wing and even 'racist' but there is a sense in which - perhaps not so much now as in the past - they have been expected by community leaders to conform to an anti-fascist stereotype. There may even be a sense of guilt where they fall short of that stereotype.

Here's an example of the mindset. A few years ago I was sitting next to a Jewish friend at a dinner and we were talking politics. He dropped his voice and said; 'Enoch had the right idea about the f***ing w*gs. I know I'm not supposed to say that because I'm Jewish but I think Enoch was bloody well right.'

He said it to me but I'll bet he wouldn't have said it to his rabbi. Having said that, I wouldn't say it to my vicar. Well of course I wouldn't say it anyway, because I'm not a racist.

Many of the members of the Board of Deputies are very active within the Lib/Lab/Con/UKIP Friends of Israel. Their influence in the formation of policy is down to the financial influence (see the comments by people like Baroness Tonge or Dennis Skinner for reference).

Now that the FoI has come into the limelight by the Cash for Honours scandal, they've all backed out from making donations, hence the Labour Party being accused of near bankrupcy.

IU, at post 6, how do you know that poster you so smugly dismiss does not have Jewish antecedents? After Hitler Jewish people were almost universally anti-racist and Internationalist. The Board of Deputies did and still do oppose what they see as racist politics. After William Hagues attacks on asylum seekers in 2001 many members of the BoD refused to attend a dinner he was speaking at. They are still fighting the last war.
The problem is the jewish people have a new, more dangerous for being world-wide enemy - Islam. You can buy a cxopy of The Protocols of The learned Elders of Zion in Muslim shops all over this country.The Jewish leaders who continue to encourage immigration are getting their own people into great danger.
Hitherto, the western countries was where Jewish people were safest. No more! Further, there are many people in western countries who have some, however slight, Jewish blood and multi-racialism is putting them in danger too.
