No but Bear, if the authorities demand something of you the YOU MUST NOT DEFY THEM.

If they want to make a law saying they can rape your wife and cut off your head then you MUST allow them to do it, because IT IS THE LAW, and ALL PEOPLE WHO BREAK THE LAW ARE EVIL AND MUST BE PUNISHED......

Not complying with anybody in authority is BREAKING THE LAW and therefore they deserve everything they get...... Even torture if the law allows it.....

Don't you agree ?

Your comment:

"To be a bit pedantic even though the core was biodegradable it could (with some stretch of the imagination) be said to represent a health and safety hazard during the period of its degrading when it was slimy and so could have resulted in a fall."

My god - if an apple core is a health and safety risk then well, imagine all those millions of tons of metal flying around our roads everyday, and all those children who run in the playground - they could well fall over and break their necks and die horribly.

We must stop them - but of course the governement are already trying to.....

If you do not want to be a criminal then I agree absolutely.

On the other hand if society decides that such a law is wrong then there is a democratic (well, in the case of Britain sort of democratic) way that it can, and would be changed.

Not so in Islam. What was set down 1300 years ago is as right today as it was then and will remain so in perpetuity.

Take so called Honour Killings…..

Motor vehicles are an expected hazard on and by roads and steps and laws are in place to deal with them to then extent that is possible.

A trip or slip hazard on a pavement is not.

I am arriving back in the UK on Monday I find this madness deeply worrying. I'll be giving such people very short shrift if I'm approached by one of those wannabe cops who are too deficient in some capacity to become a proper copper, if even they exist anymore.

May I say though that it was not even proven that he actually dropped the apple core.

Maybe if PCSO's were employed instead as street cleaners the deadly danger of a slip on an apple core would be a thing of the past. May I also say most of the pavements were in such a state of disrepair due to council cuts last time I visited that you were more likely to trip on a cracked paving stone and damage yourself. Maybe the apple core would break your fall. Should we therefore encourage the dropping of apple cores as a safety measure???

It's revenue generating clear and simple and if you can't see that you must be blind.

What about wasting police time. My dad was a copper for thirty years. He would have been hauled into the Inspectors office for wasting valuable resources had he pursued this case.......... Mind you coppers were allowed to apply a bit of common sense in those days.

My God, I'm to let loose with these politically correct nojobber pricks starting Monday!!!!

Let’s keep in mind what he was arrested for. Not for dropping an apple core, for refusing to give his name and address to a police officer.

Which he does not have to do unless he is arrested, stopped under the stop and search legislation or stopped under terrorism laws, so therefore he has done nothing wrong.

You can't go around accusing people of dropping an apple core, then arresting them for refusing to give their name and address to the plastic copper.

This is a load of ********, people need to stop sticking up for them are simply helping to facilitate this madness.

If we can forget about Islam for one second....

"if society decides that such a law is wrong"

Errr - does society decide or does the government decide ?
I think the latter....

"A trip or slip hazard on a pavement is not."

Yes, but a trip or a slip could happen anywhere - surely we should ban running or even walking just in case it happens ?

So to be clear - you absolutely agree with my statement:

"If they want to make a law saying they can rape your wife and cut off your head then you MUST allow them to do it, because IT IS THE LAW, and ALL PEOPLE WHO BREAK THE LAW ARE EVIL AND MUST BE PUNISHED......"

Yes ?

Yes ?

Unless you want to be a criminal in whatever country such a law exists, then yes.

There are several countries where that is exactly the view and worse yet the practice.

And even alot of that is far too much power to be giving to our servants.
