He should have been told to pick up the apple core and put it in a bin and that would have been the end of it. What this is really about is the DNA database, the agenda is to have a DNA sample from everyone, this is why people are getting arrested for stupid things.
I'm generally a law abiding person but if some jumped up boob job (Community support officer) asked for my details I would laugh in their face tell them to get stuffed, they already have my DNA over a motoring offence so I'd have nothing to lose. |

You should not have to give your name without very good reason. Dropping an apple core is not that. The very idea is just another example of the police presuming to be our masters instead of servants.
I think they should have to bow to passers-by!

Even so, biodegradable or not, it was litter and so it did contravene the bylaws. Where I do wholeheartedly agree is the assessment of “Blunket’s Bobby”. I strongly suspect that had he (or she or it) asked the guy who dropped the core to pick it up then he would in all probability have done so. Even if he had not and told the CSO where to shove the core the sensible reply would have been short, sharp, and unheard by anyone else followed by a kick of the core into the gutter by the CSO and he/she walking off thinking about words that the late lamented Rev. Doctor Spooner might have come out with along the lines of “what a nasty shining wit HE was”. To me THAT would have been common sense. Bit of a shame that common sense is so, well, so uncommon these days.

Not really, if I'd been the CSO I would have asked the guy to pick his litter up, if he didn't I'd have quietly told him That I considered him to be a ......... (insert something rude) and kicked the core into the gutter.
But I wasn't the CSO.
