Tablighi Jamaat Tablighi Jamaat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I had read about the Tablighi Jamaat and asked my Muslim mentor about them. He is from Egypt and wasnt really aware of them. He then did research and some of their members came from Glasgow to Inverness and my mentor was Not impressed by them.

Islam is . . . Islam is . . . Islam is . . . Islam is many things. Just as there is no single America or Europe or the West, a seamless caption etching diverse groups and persons with the same values and meanings, so there is no single place or uniform culture called Islam. There is no monolithic Islam. There is a Muslim world spanning Africa and Asia. It is as pluralistic as the West, outstripping both Europe and America in the numerous regions, races, languages, and cultures that it encompasses. The Afro-Asian Muslim world is also internally pluralistic, containing multiple groups who might be said to represent Islamic norms in each Muslim country. And Muslims themselves are aware of how necessary, and how difficult, it is to specify differing notions of Islam. An Indonesian friend of mine once quipped: "There are three Islams: the popular Islam which anthropologists are fond of studying, mostly as curious spectators; the public Islam...

.... and the Islam of The Bear [and others]

Actually it is not. There are different branches, Sunni, Shia, Suffi etc

Suffi Islam is mystical and has more in common with mystical and gnostic xtianity and Judaism as with the rest of Islam as they do with each other rather than their respective religions. It is generally non-violent.

Islam of any colour is rooted to the Koran.

Islam was created in a violent region to suppress violence amongst tribes by crushing tribes that would not be suppressed and converted, and for the past 1300 years has been pushing itself by one war after another.

Only when confronted and beaten back are there periods of less activity in the incessant drive to Islamify the whole world.

To describe Islam as a religion of peace is like saying the Borgias were a nice family and good at catering.

Possibly, but today and knowing their justified reputation, who would want to eat it?

At the time the region was no more violent, probably less so, than Europe.

I see little in Islam to say it is worse than xtianity. It is simply the culture it is in which makes it violent.

Around 700 AD Europe was certainly no paradise, but the continuing tribal warfare in the birthplace of Islam was significantly worse. What’s more Europe was Christian and was controlled (not too strong a word) by the Roman Catholic church to a considerable extent.

I, and all those who have looked seriously and dispassionately this subject see Christianity as the antithesis of Islam.

As for violence, the whole ethos of Islam is based on violence to the transgressor.

It’s not the culture that makes Islam violent, it’s the other way around. It’s Islam that makes for a violent culture, especially towards non Muslims.
