It’s an interesting exercise to take an on line Quoran and having copied a bit onto word do a global replace for the words “jew” and “Christian” with Muslim.

You need to do a bit of grammatical tidying up of course but that can be done without changing the meaning.

Here’s a quick example of before and after.

Before

"Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people...They desire nothing but your ruin....You believe in the entire Book...When they meet you they say: 'We, too, are believers.' But when alone, they bite their finger-tips with rage." (Surah 3:118, 119)

After

Christians, Jews, , do not make friends with any but your own people... Muslims desire nothing but your ruin....You believe in your Book...When Muslims meet you they say: 'We, too, are believers.' But when alone, they bite their finger-tips with rage."


Before

"The Jews and Christians say: 'We are the children of God and His loved ones.' Say: 'Why then does He punish you for your sins?" (Surah 5:18)

After

The Muslims say “We are the children of God and His loved ones.” Say to them : 'Why then does He punish you for your sins?"


Before

"Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends." (Surah 5:51)

After

"Jews and Christians, take not Muslims for your friends."

And so very much more. For example

"...make war on the leaders of unbelief...Make war on them: God will chastise them at your hands and humble them. He will grant you victory over them..." (Surah 9:12-)

"It ill becomes the idolaters [non-Muslims] to visit the mosques of God..." (Surah 9:17)

"Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:27-)

"It is He who has sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true Faith [Islam] to make it triumphant over all religions, however much the idolaters [non-Muslims] may dislike it." (Surah 9:31-)
And it goes on and on. Swap “Christian and Jew” with “Muslim”, tidy up the grammar to retain the meaning, publish such a book, and you’d better have a false passport handy and a flight booked way out of Britain in your hand..

WHY is it that the Quoran isn’t banned as the piece of hate inspiring racial offensive thing that it is?

Two points.

Christianity provides The New Covenant as delivered by Jesus (who also warned about false prophets and since so much that is in Islam runs counter to the teaching of Jesus it sort of points to the obvious …)

Next the laws of The Pentateuch are continually updated by the Talmud which as it is written under divine guidance reflects how The Lord changes rules to suite society.

Sorry, Highlander, you have a way to go before you understand religions.

When, or rather IF you do you, will know as you will start to see through Islam and just what it is all about.

Ea of Dune

I have to say religion has played an important part of history within this country, and should be taught when required as part of a history lesson e.g. the Reformation and the Tudor dynasty. It would be impossible to give a balanced view of the Crusades without teaching the aspects of religion which had an effect on history for example.
However there is a difference from teaching religion in an academic sense i.e. where it pertains to other fields such as history, literature and music and the teaching of religion to foster a faith within somebody.

I'm all for RE being taught to give students a general overview of what religion is as this will be beneficial when studying other subjects, I'm also think it would be impossible to teach history as I have stated above without touching on the subject, but it should end there really.

If people want to send their kids of a Catholic school, then so be it but they should pay for it at the end of the day.
