There should be NO "faith schools".

The ONLY form of religious exposure that children should experience at school is comparative religion and NOTHING else.

Up yours! If I want to pay to send my kids to a faith school, I don't see how it's any of your business. I don't want my four-year-olds being taught how to use a butt plug by the perverts masquerading as teachers in the state school system.

The issue isn't state vs. private schools, it's schools that teach silly glorified fairy stories as being some sort of truth.

Teaching about all of the major religions in a totally secular manner in order for kids to grow up realising what a huge con job all theist religions are is one thing, but to present silly religions as fact amounts to child abuse of the very worst kind as it abuses and corrupts the mind and subsequent life of a person when they’re at their most vulnerable.

As for the use of "butt plugs", if they are as common as they seem to be, would it not be far better that kids were taught about them and their uses by someone competent than learning about them in the school yard?

(For the life of me I can’t imagine in my wildest drug induced dreams of just why anyone would want to ram a thing that what as a child I knew as a “top” that formed part of a “whip and top” toy up where the sun don’t shine but that’s another matter)

I think the key thing regarding education is choice, there is still a strong demand in this country for both faith and non faith state run schools therefore the challange should be to get the right balance.

I would wish my child to go to a faith school and do not see why I should fork out taxes to fund non faith schools if my wishes and the wishes of otheres who felt similar were ignored. Fairness is the true test of any tax system.

The only other alternative is to make all education private, and I see no widescale demand for this within the country at this moment in time.

I dont see how you can give a child a well rounded education without teaching them religion it is after all tied up with a vast majority of human history.

Well if I ever have kids i think I may give them a packed lunch to take to school.

On a more serious note I agree that the type of direct action you advocate parents taking could well be needed.

Surely if there is a demand for faith schools they should be provided, is not the way to a good education system best achieved by the provision of choice?

I think actually many parents choose faith schools because they provide good quality education not due to any personal religous beleif.

I would also note that the local children I come into contact with who have been to faith schools and/or attend church regualrly tend to be better behavied then the little savages that ramapge down my road at night who regualalry behave in a way that makes me think that they need a good sharp clip round the ear.

Teaching Islam isn't the same as asking you to become Muslim.
There are already laws in England stating that collective worship must be of Christian background.
