And stopping getting possibly sued or taken to court under discriminatory grounds - i.e they are free to discriminate as much as they wish

Discrimination of any kind is never positive or "positive action".

Just another example of the government turning a negative change for the worse into a "positive".

Anyway whatever happened to ability ?

Good point, I have had personal experience of organisations that have taken a nose dive due to positive (racist) discrimination. I protested against one of them last year with a scathing letter of complaint to their Head Office and had the woman in question sacked who thought she was untouchable. What she didn't realise was that I had a computer with quick access to their online customer charter and of course 3 brain cells.

Stalin attacked the middle classes as well. A lot of them were dumped in the sea.

Don't know about anyone else, but I've raised the issue with my MP, describing it as blatant racism. I await their reply.

There’s more ways to kill a cat than kicking it repeatedly up the backside.

So called “positive” discrimination is taking place here and now by the setting of employment targets.

The effect is that an employer is pretty well obliged to operate a racially selective recruitment policy or he will find himself in danger of being labelled as being “racist” if he doesn’t meet the racial profile that this awful government have decided is the correct one to meet.

Especially so in the case of public services.

All the Harman woman is doing is attempting to spread the same vileness thoroughly throughout the private sector, and spread it will because of various grants that are available to employers who take on people from “underprivileged” groups.

Guess where most people who would be positively discriminated in favour of would come from.

It would be like running an advert saying “only people who come with a grant for the employer considered for the post”.

This government really are the pits.

Every time I see jobs advertised in the public sector - the actor doing the job is invariably black.

An interesting case Baron - thanks for sharing.

Do you mean local newspaper or local solicitor ? I think you should at least make people aware of this woman's advice - she may not be so quick to go with the flow if the local community put's her under pressure too.

By the way, I'm sure there are strong women who would be willing to fight too !

Anyway, good luck - I think you should look into it, even if you don't pursue it.
