Default Fed up of fly-tipping?

Domestic rubbish makes up about half of all fly-tipping.
But environmental groups say that more items like televisions or computers may be dumped by businesses trying to avoid recycling costs or landfill tax. Dumping rubbish can result in large fines or even imprisonment. CCTV has helped to catch some culprits but the latest figures show that fewer than one in 2000 fly-tippers are prosecuted.

That's what you get when you artificially bump up the prices by having the landfill tax(theiving).

If you tell people theiving is O.K., then a bit of fly tipping seems quite tame in comparison.

They make it as difficult as possible now to take rubbish to the council tip - banning trailers and vans - requiring ID.

Exactly.

People are losing more respect for the system by the day. If they don't realise that soon, then the "anarchy" that so scares them, will be upon them sooner rather than later.

If my Council decides to charge me in any way in addition to the amount I already pay in my Council Tax then flytipping will have another adherent.

Fly tipping is doesn't happen around my area, in my street our refuge is collected three times a week, any large items are taken within an hour or two of making a call. Other councils should take note and stop treating those that pay their wages with contempt, people should dump their rotting waste at the council doors to slam the message home.

tara might well live in the same borough as HM Queen but (if so) I don't think that has anything to do with the collection of her rubbish.

Fortnightly collections are being fazed in up and down the country but some councils are going back to weekly due to so many complaints regarding rats and flies. As for my area, some people have a lot of clout around here and won't stand for substandard public services, in Westminster they have daily collections. Complain, complain, complain until you get the services you have paid for.

Ours was one of the first councils to switch to fortnightly collections. Years ago I might add! Welcome to my smelly town in the summer And fly-tipping does happen alot here. If they implement the pay as you throw bins I expect it will happen alot more. Most of us resort to stomping on our rubish to make it all fit so it weighs a ton. We obviously have no clout at all in our town

P.S. People DID bring their garbage to the council. Plenty of people. It did no good what so ever. People asked move the recycling collection to weekly at least as that was one of the councils reasoning behind fortnightly collections, to increase recycling though how that is meant to increase when you don't pick it up is beyond me. The councils answer to too much recycling to fit in the bins provided? Take it to the tip!
