Good. Noisy gits.

Why the hell do we celebrate Guy Fawkes night anyways? I mean, it's not like he actually finished the job and we have anything to celebrate, is it?

Don't worry it's taken some time but Gordon Brown is working on finishing the job.

I've heard others say that too, and I know what you mean - the days when we celbrate our "democratic" system are long gone.
However considering most children(and some adults) don't even know the reason for it, I think we should see it as a bit of fun we can all enjoy.

Even if idiots misuse fireworks, it shouldn't mean that it stops it for the rest of us.

Its not only Guy Fawkes night at risk but major events e.g all the New year events which use fireworks for a climax, all events during the year which do the same e.g Edinburgh festival . The list is endless.,

Exactly jim.
And if fireworks are banned, it's only a matter of time before everything else is banned. That is the drip drip approach of fascism.
