But there is a little catch and that’s the difference in what the measurements actually mean. Sorry, meant decimal rather than metric in time, but a lot of metric arguments are based on decimalisation and thereby ease of use. If the metre wasn't decimal based we could divide it into more sensible units such as eighths (easier for computer programming).
A kilobyte is not 1000 bytes so the system is already confused. A kilometre is an arbitrary decimal figure - 1000. A kilobyte, at 1096 bytes, is actually more logical, but should be called something else.
