Ahh. So you're assuming that the introduction of such a thing would hasten the demise of the government, as all the smokers stage a revolution?

Its interesting to note that the whole move towatds political tyranny is driven by unworldly academics. Is theis "Policy Network" another "Common Purpose" type organisation?

The current smoking ban is merely a veiled attack on the principle of private property. But the Govenment gets away with it because too many smokers just treat the policy at face value. Great news for the socialists; the death of individualism by degrees. So the social engineers are careful not to wake the lion. And, sadly, the lion will remain sleeping. |

So you don't support ID cards unless the person is a smoker and then they should be an underclass of person a bit like the jews were in Germany made to wear the star of David on their cloths.
Hiel Hitler! Progressism is a word we will soon be familiar with the hard line socialist are back out in force their just not rascist this time as it is now not politically correct. Progressism is the new fascism. Smokers can't smoke in public buildings why are you so obsessed with what other people do. |

I think a permit would put off a lot of people who some times have a cigar for a special occasion for example.
I never normally smoke but on a rare occasion I might have a cigar if I am celebrating something. If I was required to have a damn permit to buy a cigar and renew this thing every year I'd just not bother... I get a friend to go buy it for me. The idea is silly, will cost a stupid amount of money and the lack of money brought in through tobacco tax due to falling sales will have to come from somewhere.... Ea of dune |
