I think the saying is "Hate the sin, love the sinner, go forth and sin no more".

For two thousand years the church (rightly or wrongly) taught that homosexuality was a sin, now after three decades of political correctness it is abandoning its core beliefs. Certainly the C of E with a leader like Rowan Williams its no wonder it is dying out. In Brighton the magnificent St Peter's Church in the Old Steine, is to be made redundant. This was the church once referred to as Brighton's cathedral.

No doubt it may become a mosque to be formally opened by Dr Williams with chains around his neck saying "So Sorry"!

The language used in the post title is rather emotive.

You are assuming that the man practises sodomy, the article that
you quoted says that the man is gay and nothing else. It also states
that he is single, surley sodomy requires at least two participants?
As homosexuality is not illegal, and employment laws require equality
regardless of sexual orientation, this has nothing to do with PC.
The Church must abide by employment law as everyone else must do.
In this case they broke it....End of.

The Bishop should refuse to pay the fine and attend the training.
It is time the church took a stand.

Homosexuality is imcompatiable with scripture, of course a man can beleive in God and have sexual urges towards another man and even act on them, but ultimatley the behaviour is sinful and as christians we are all sinners striving to break free of sin and trying to avoid getting trapped in a cycle of sin.

So homosexuals should turn away from there sinful behaviour just as any sinner should.

Yes I'm a Christian, are you?

If so, read the appropriate passages in your Bible and then tell me whether you believe that a 'practising homosexual ' (what an absurd term but this is a family forum) can be a Christian.

Celibate homosexuals, including repentent former sinners, are welcomed and embraced as full members of the Christian community.

How anyone should expect to work in a church when they are a practicing homosexual is beyond me.

Ditto that, especially members of the clergy!

And of course this would apply with equal force to a 'practising adulterer', so the pathetic bleat from the poor little 'gay' dears that they are the only sinners being discriminated against holds no water whatsoever.

What is the matter with this once-proud country? Why have we allowed our corrupt politicians to surrender to decadence and degeneracy?

Britain has become a nation of cowardice and shame; in fact it's no longer a nation at all. It is no more than a piece of land inhabited by a mass of cowards and degenerates with a minority of brave, decent people making a final stand against Godless evil.

I agree Mike, forinication is fornication it is all sin but people dont want to hear that they just trot out' the church discriminates against gays' line.

The next step will be to try to impose gay marriages on the church, I serve in my local church singing in the choir, I will never sing at a gay marriage and if it is imposed will leave the anglican church.
