I see, well worth a try. Just trying to make the world a place of good people. Submit yourself to alcohol if you will. I have no authority over how yu are to live

(p.s. even though I will have to pay the tax of any bin you knock over whilst drunk, or any injury you cause yourself (or someone else).

I'm sure the huge amount of alcohol duty will more than cover it.

I have no objection to people going out and getting drunk if they want to. I'm not exactly in a position to criticise such behaviour - I've done it myself (and probably will continue to do so). There are sufficient laws in place to deal with it if things get out of hand. Most people go home quite peacefully, so I don't see a problem.

As for Britain's morally depraved society - the right teachings are there, but for whatever reason, the people prefer to follow their own version of morality. We can't force morality on to people, you can only lead by example - "You can lead a horse to water".

So people (me included) who like a few drinks now and again are bad people?

I see, peacefully I don't think is the word. However, on to your comments about morality, your right we can't force morality on people and indeed I deffinatley agree about leading by example, I try to lead people by being a good example (as you can tell from being accused of being a 'goody two-shoes' on this thread) but people are just to caught up in material existance and will continue to be ........but I hope you have a good time when you are out

You are not alone - I know plenty of people who do not consume alcohol. Most of them because it's part of tradition (Methodism), some of them have decided not to because of what effect it can have on people.

Mine is a bit of both, I was brought up a Methodist and I have seen and know what effects it has.

You say you were brought up a Methodist, are you not one now?

Useful information: The Methodist Church of Great Britain | Methodist attitudes to alcohol

Well by Religion, yes I am a Methodist, on all of my important records/information it says Weslain Methodist. But by faith I am not denominational, I am a follower of Christ, not a follower of the Church. I attend church rarely and only to keep them going and only to socialise with what I see as very good people. But I hold the same view as Epictetus when it comes to worship and religion "God is best worshipped in the shrine of the heart, by the desire to know and obey him". I believe Christ as mankinds Saviour, manifest in the man Jesus whom of which was a vessel of the Christ and payed the mortal sacrifice.
