Yep they count in the 18 or more people who let us down. Of course there is a minority of that wretched era, that did try to fight it. Them people are fine.
My generation is just as bad. No worse. I was 2 when the vote happened and I bloody want a say now. Sadly most of my loser peers are happy with their X Factor and pizza.

Well I grew up as a teenager in the 90's and went to Uni in the late 90's through to the 00's.
When I was younger our youth club got shut down. The nearest proper park was about a mile and a half away from me. Needless to say it was cr*p a knackered old slide and some other rusting stuff, hardly inspiring for kids. Anyway I have to say that I noticed the difference on the streets and clubs etc. after a few years of Nu-Lab getting in. The violence has gotten so much worst and the whole Chav culture has exploded. I read a great blog post the other day about the drinking culture of Britain in the 21st C. It made a hypothetical argument that the government has done everything to destroy our traditional pubs and drinking habits and replaced it with "drinking factories". Zones of towns where the young are herded into to ply themselves stupid with booze in bland identikit bars until they can't see and spew. I know we have always gotten drunk and had a problem with footie louts etc. but I do believe this government has done nothing to solve the root causes, and has in fact made things a lot worst, a hell of a lot worst. The cynic in me says they have done it on purpose so they can impose more of their stupid nanny state laws or us (and a generation of drunks are hardly a threat to the neo-marxist government). The police seem to love nicking drunk students as they are easy targets. The real nasty drunks who carry knives, well it's usually the A&E that has to deal with them, whilst the cops nick somebody for yelling in the street or something equally pathetic. Strip the young of any cultural anchors and a sense of responsibility, and only destructive habits are going to fill the gap. I don't think it's just the bad kids who are to blame. There are plenty of decent kids who get dragged down in it, or end up in the "drinking factories" surrounded by the illiterate shells that pass as Englishmen these days. Hardly inspiring is it. Anyway rant over. Ea of dune Last edited by Ea of Dune; 23-11-2007 at 10:28 PM. |
