Well if the Courts don't get it right the only other way to change the state of affairs would be to get it written into Law (since the Courts can't overrule an Act of Parliament, except in cases of EU legislation). In that case, you'll have to write to your MPs...

I hope it doesn't. It sounds like Ms Desrosiers could't afford that so the most likely outcome is that there will be an out of court settlement. No doubt it will cost the salon but probably much less so than fighting it.

Sadly, getting justice is an expensive business and often more than most would be willing or able to pay.

I wish Ms Desrosiers well. I also hope she takes pragmatic advice.

Depends on how much support she receives I guess.

If Muslim women keep their head covered in public how do they get their hair cut? I would imagine they have a mobile hairdresser come to their home? Why did the Ms Noah apply for a job in a salon? Was it not that she had no confidence in her own hair dressing abilities to keep her own customers if she went mobile?

Ms Noah said today she had attended a total of 25 interviews for hairdressing jobs without success

In a legal letter setting out her employment tribunal case, Ms Noah, from Acton, claims she was discriminated against and treated rudely at her interview.
What has being treated rudely got to do with anything?

Can anyone be sure that the person attending the interview was actually a woman?
