The BBC has frequently been accused of having a liberal bias.
But now the corporation's own staff appear to have confirmed this by revealing their political views on the networking website Facebook. A survey of BBC employees with profiles on the site showed that 11 times more of them class themselves as "liberal" than "conservative". Facebook reveals the BBC as a liberal hotbed | the Daily Mail Research by the conservativehome. com website showed that 1,340 staff put themselves in the 'liberal' or 'very liberal' category, compared with just 120 who were 'conservative" or 'very conservative'. Some 340 regard themselves as 'moderate'. The report noted that the BBC had "come late" to several important stories in recent years, including Euroscepticism and immigration. Roger Mosey, the former head of BBC television news, told the review that the corporation displays 'fairly overt support' for multiculturalism. He recalled a news item about ethnic communities becoming the majority in parts of East London, where a reporter had told him that they had 'worked really hard' to find a white resident who was happy with the situation. This new revelation from Facebook is nothing new, I shouldn't imagine that UKIP get many 'friend requests' from the BBC! |

How long will those members of the BBC who describe themselves as 'conservative" or 'very conservative' be in work once their facebook profiles have been trawled though by the BBC management/government?
The BBC is liberal, of course, that liberal policy only applies to those who share the liberal viewpoint. Of course they support multiculturalism, they support most cultural groups, except one. Naturally. |

Of course, the fact that liberalism is a movement which embraces personal freedom means nothing...
The BBC would be better to be biased in favour of liberal policies than it would any other. |

Liberalism will bring divisiveness and anarchy. What am I saying...... Have you seen the state of the UK. 10 years of liberal policies have really brought us all together in our crime free, poverty free, caring, sharing society hasn't it? I can't remember the last time I heard anyone complain ![]()

I would like to hear of a time when the UK was free of crime and poverty, or exhibited the universal care and idea of sharing which you seem to think liberal policies have destroyed.
People always will complain and always have complained. The difference is that nowadays t here are more ways for people's complaints to be h eard. I never claimed that the BBC was unbiased; merely that it is better to have a liberal bias than any other. Perhaps you should actually read those things which people write in future. In my time on this Earth I have learnt to do so; it is lamentable that you do not appear to have done so as well. By the by: Winston Churchill, who I see you have in your image, was a liberal for a significan t portion of his life. |

They promote the idea that it is ok to be a failure. Drag society down to the lowest common denominator rather than pushing society to strive for the top Quote:

But by todays standards that liberalism would be construed as conservatism.

Can you first explain and then produce backing evidence for your claim that liberal policies have destroyed the family unit and promote the idea that it is OK to be a failure?
All I've noticed is that technology has come in the way of family and that liberal policies have merely made it easier to escape from failure. I agree that the BBC would be better to be unbiased. However, that is not the point which I am trying to make, the point which you have not yet answered. It is good to see an admittance of fault. I would not call the effective predecessor of the Welfare State (c. the early 1900s there were introduced state pensions, free medical checkups and treatments for children, etc., as I'm sure you are aware) conservative. |

There's a difference between libertarianism and Liberalism. The latter being a bunch of Grauniad-reading, leftist control freaks.
