Bear,I have often read the koran from 1977 onwards,we will never agree that the Bible and koran are not similar in many many respects.

I know that the koran is seen as containing many parts and similarities to the Bible,far too many to make it a mere coincident.

My strong belief and understanding is that the koran has plagiarised the Bible since it was first compiled by whoever.

I have also heard the Bible discribed as being a book about the Christian God,and the koran as being discribed as the exact opposite,if you follow.

Islam does not accept that Jesus was the son of god nor that he is the saviour of mankind by dying on the cross and accepting the punishment for all the sins of man then and for the future for any man or woman who would accept him as their personal saviour and follow his teaching.

To say the Islam accepts Jesus is divisive in the extreme. Islam may accept Jesus the man, but it does not accept what he was and is.

The holes in their plot start showing when you ask why they believe in the virgin birth and not original sin. Without original sin, there's no point in the virgin birth.

The whole ethos of Christianity is at odds with Islam.

The demand to convert against the Christian invitation to join, the place that death has in Islam as a means of punishing those who don’t walk the line that has no counterpart in Christianity, the inclusiveness of Christianity for non Christians without the payment of special taxes to live in an Islamic region, the demand for a Christian never to deny his faith against the way that Islam codifies when lying is the right path to take, in fact the full nine yards.

I can see NOTHING Christian in Islam except bits that have been plagurised to make it on the surface less abhorrent to Christians just as Nazism took features of Socialism and Nationalism and created Nazism. They did this by adding a toxicity that was totally lacking in both so that people who did incline towards Socialism or Nationalism would see what they wanted to see, and not the whole horrific picture.

Jesus, I learned from my Father a Church of Scotland Elder and sunday school teacher.

Both are now deceased, both thouroughly good Christians.
I have walked in the footsteps of Jesus when 6 months in Palistine. {Kibbuttz}

I worship one god rather than some chap who reworded the Bible,
but no matter we are all Bros., lets get on with the fight to the death for Democracy and Freedom from the satanic EU.
After that we can discuss the Satanic Verses.
