Parents should be in the loop - it is for them to say what is taught to their children where it is not mainstream accepted fact - unless the Muslims are happy that their children are taught Chritianity as fact.

Another Williams, Dr Williams the AB of Canterbury is having a similar problem on the root of homosexuality in trying to keep the Anglican Church together.

Trying to break it up more like!

Homosexuality not a 'disease', says Archbishop - Telegraph

Quote:
Homosexuality not a 'disease', says Archbishop

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has said that homosexuality is not a "disease" on the eve of a crucial decision that could split the Anglican Church worldwide.

Archbishop prays for miracle in gay rights row

Dr Williams's support for gays will fuel anger among conservative Church members who will see his message of support as direct challenge to their deeply held view that homosexuality is a sin.

In his address to a key -gathering of 159 American bishops in New Orleans, the Archbishop insisted: "I do not assume that homosexual inclination is a disease."

Warning that "violence against gay and lesbian people is inexcusable," he added: "Gay and lesbian people have a place in the Church as do all the baptised."

Dr Williams flew to America in a last-minute round of shuttle diplomacy to reconcile the warring camps.
I haven't got a problem with degenerates but please, keep it behind closed doors, children could be watching.

It's a non question nor answer,
It preys on our own personal criteria.
One that we only allow to be judged
in popular opinion.

Hitchens is a moron when it comes to issues like this.

We must educate children about sex, safe sex, STD control and abstinence.
Is he actually suggesting that if we don't mention it they won't bother trying it?
I should like to see his opinion when some confused little 13 year olds start trying their own experiments. Death, disease and unwanted pregnancy being the outcome.

It's not the role of the State to educate in such matters, it's something that should be taught by parents.

You say that like it doesn't happen now. Teenage pregnancies are on the increase, as are STIs.

There is not enough education, that and abortion means people don't give a stuff about the consequence of their actions.

Other countries have sex education for children and they don't have the problems with teenage pregnancies that the UK has.
The factor may well be the generous and divisive benefits system.
As regards the state not being the body to educate what happens if the parents are embarrassed or shy or if a lone parent of the opposite sex.
