The council officer acted very inappropriately in this case, and she is definitely not popular locally.
She complained about the jokes as a private citizen - but mentioned her job as head of diversity and culture at Cornwall County Council - obviously hoping this would extend her influence with the schools and the publication in question. This is totally inappropriate I feel. As a result of her action, she is now manifestly unpopular, and she has now managed to get herself - and job - into the public eye. As a result, her job is now listed with the Taxpayers' Alliance as a public sector non-job, and a waste of public money. Quite right too. Cornwall is about as mono-cultured as you can get, so her position is pointless (similar roles in other councils, IMO, are also pointless).
