The crematorium has also been ordered to pay a further £200,000 for lighting, because, under the same legislation, the new benches must be lit at night.
What old person is going to sit in a cemetary at midnight? Maybe the poor folk of the New Labour pensions fiasco waiting their turn for the grim reaper?

Why was it measured in inches?
Surley there must be a bye law forbidding
the use of Imperial measurements in that fashion,
or does the Taliban Metrication Enforcement Agency
only apply to street traders.

You been on holiday? The EU have graciously allowed us to keep imperial measurements indefinitely!
Or at least until the BBC pressures them into changing their minds...

Default Imperial measurments, EU Election 2009, UKIP, UK

I think the EU has only allowed a temporary compromise on this because europhiles over here have told them that the proposed 2010 ban on Imperial measurements being displayed (now deferred) would have become a big issue at the 2009 EU Election - and possibly in a 2009 UK General Election.

Opposition to a ban on Imperial measurements would have boosted the UKIP vote in both of those elections and that is the last thing the europhiles would want, of course.

Prepare for the EU to announce after the 2009 EU Election (and after the next UK General Election) a new date for the banning of the display of Imperial measurements in the UK.

Default EU, Imperial Measurements system, 2010

If not 2010, soon after :x  . The EU already has a new 'secret' target date (in my view) to destroy our ancient Imperial Measurements system .
