It's a children's TV programme though - trouble is many people grew up with it and still like to watch it
But it is so PC as to be painful as is Torchwood

The BBC is bad - and getting worse in my view. I want the BBC poll tax (television licence fee) scrapped. I don't see why I should be forced to pay £131.50 (now £136.50 I believe) a year to the BBC scrounger in order to gain access to watching ITV and other non-BBC channels. |

They probably spent millions of pounds of tax-payers money of working out an anagram for Doctor Who that could used as a 'spin-off' ('Torchwood').
I laughed (with predictability) when last night's episode (7/4/07) included a gay slur about William Shakespeare. It's so PC it's tiring. |

In synopsis Torchwood has 3 men, 3 women (who are all smart and positive, unlike many of the male parts who all negative), an Asian scientist, is set in Cardiff (and like Doctor Who is very pro-Welsh) and is headed by John Barrowman. I've seen a few 5 minute clips from time to time, but never had much inclination really.

By highlighting differences in people all the time, you actually make prejudices, bigotry and resentment worse I think. If you treat people as people then things such as being black, gay, Welsh etc become an incidental part of the person-- the 'label' shouldn't absolutely define the person. A good actor is a good actor, regardless of skin colour |
