It's a children's TV programme though - trouble is many people grew up with it and still like to watch it

But it is so PC as to be painful as is Torchwood

I've never watched the 'new' Doctor Who brought back by the BBC in recent years - the promotional clips of it have been enough to tell me it is PC (politically correct), as you rightly say G. Hall. As for Torchwood - again, the promotional clips of it put out by the BBC failed to persuade me to watch it.

The BBC is bad - and getting worse in my view.

I want the BBC poll tax (television licence fee) scrapped. I don't see why I should be forced to pay £131.50 (now £136.50 I believe) a year to the BBC scrounger in order to gain access to watching ITV and other non-BBC channels.

They probably spent millions of pounds of tax-payers money of working out an anagram for Doctor Who that could used as a 'spin-off' ('Torchwood').

I laughed (with predictability) when last night's episode (7/4/07) included a gay slur about William Shakespeare.

It's so PC it's tiring.

I'm too white to watch the BBC, so I don't. Maybe they won't want white people's money either, but perhaps that's beyond the limit of their deeply held moral stance.

I've never seen it ('Torchwood') - but I can imagine that it is. After all, most of the BBC output is politically correct (PC). Many BBC programmes are checked before transmission to make sure they conform to PC rules  .

In synopsis Torchwood has 3 men, 3 women (who are all smart and positive, unlike many of the male parts who all negative), an Asian scientist, is set in Cardiff (and like Doctor Who is very pro-Welsh) and is headed by John Barrowman. I've seen a few 5 minute clips from time to time, but never had much inclination really.

From the clips I've seen of it sounds like a total waste of licence payers' money. Another reason to stop making the BBC television poll tax (i.e. licence fee) compulsory and see how long the politically correct pro-EU Blair Broadcasting Corporation survive when they have to go out into the real commercial world and earn their money. Not very long I would suggest.

Quality post
As Ally Ross once succinctly put it: "Russell T Davies can't write a cheque without giving it a gay agenda"

By highlighting differences in people all the time, you actually make prejudices, bigotry and resentment worse I think. If you treat people as people then things such as being black, gay, Welsh etc become an incidental part of the person-- the 'label' shouldn't absolutely define the person.

A good actor is a good actor, regardless of skin colour
