It was ages ago. Probably :P fixed now.

HAMISH ROBERTSON: Fast food giant McDonalds is preparing for a worldwide backlash after it admitted using animal fat in its French fries.

Hindus in the United States have already taken legal action, while a vegetarian group in India is preparing its case against the multinational.

Already public anger has led to the destruction of several McDonalds outlets in India.

Edmond Roy reports on the case of the non-vegetarian potato chip.

DOH that's 2006. Is it the same for the UK?

To my knowledge (and I'm mental fussy about my food), it's been at least 10 years since a UK MacD's has had the dead things near their chips.

I wasn't aware that they'd stopped doing the lard thing in the US though. That's something to note if I ever need to eat after a five hour cavity search at JFK.
