Default Mother booted off flight for asking passengers to mind baby

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/a...aby/article.do

Quote:
TO Ann Jordan and her family, it was simply a kind gesture from a fellow passenger who wanted to help resolve a problem.

But instead of allowing one of her two young children to sit on the lap of another traveller during take-off and landing, the airline marched her off the plane.

The reason given by easyJet had nothing to do with safety on board the short-haul flight.

It was made, it was explained, because of child protection fears.

And even though Mrs Jordan was sitting next to the woman passenger who had offered to look after her three-month-old son, Kaleb, she was told it was too much of a risk.
Couldn't make it up.

Gone mad some time ago I fear, what business was it of the airline to interfere in a privvate arrangement between two women that clearly did not threaten flight safety.

I can see this from the captain's point of view easily.

Yes it seems insane but you can never be assured of someone's intentions, stranger or not.

I see that easyJet have just lost some customers.

Surely it is the choice of the mother if she lets another passenger do this? It is no business of the airline or any other passenger.

Yes but the airline is exempt from any liability so long as the child is in full view of the parent, which is true in this case.

Feldoon, do you think all people are potentially dangerous? What a sad world!

But the captain claimed that because the woman passenger was a stranger it was possible – although highly unlikely – that Kaleb could be abused.
It is such a sick society. PC parasites all over the place. Surely a mother sitting next to another woman can make a deal like this.

By the way, is the captain a molester of flight attendants?
