At 5 to one inthe morning last night I went to pick up my daughter from a pub she does casual bar work in. This is in a moderately sized village less than 5 miles from a town where saturday nights are an aggressive, damaging mess and gangs hunt in paks (no pun intended.........)

So I'm parked up, on sidelights, engine running when a patrol car appears, stops, reverses up to me, exits the vehicle, taps on my window and then tells me it is illegal to park facing oncoming traffic at night.

I'd forgotten - but obviously as a crime it ranks fairly highly(!) and needed action whilst the PC in question kept himself out of the trouble in the town centre........

To befair he let me off as my daughter appeared just at that moment to go home!

So I'm parked up, on sidelights,
Where you parked in a recognised parking place?

Zero tollerance. Big fine and a short sentance should have been handed down.

I recognised it as a parking space! Seriously, it was just after the double yellow lines finished and between two cars already parked up (albeit facing the other way ops: )

As a penance, I'm not going to open the bottle of coke sitting in the kitchen, this saving the world from further global warming from the fizz in the pop.
