Default Race row 'saved dull Big Brother'

Nothing like a race row for the liberal elite. You can make money out of it!

It's true though. If they hadn't have whipped it up, BB would be on the chopping board for poor figures by now.

Default Audience share for 2007 Celebrity Big Brother

The viewing figures were appalling before the row between Jade and Shilpa took place. Someone on a radio 'phone-in called it 'Celebrity Bland Brother'. From the start of this year's Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) I was disappointed that none of the 'big' names tipped to go into this year's CBB by the press emerged. Did the people named as likely CBB contestants get 'cold feet' at the last minute? Or were the press just wrong? The tabloid newspapers claimed that Adam Ant, Kilroy, Sue Polland (from the comedy 'Hi-de'Hi') and Julie Goodyear (formerly of Coronation Street) would be going into the CBB house this time. But none did so  .

I see the audience share has slumped again since the fuss over Jade v. Shilpa . There'll be a fairly large audience for the final night of this year's CBB but overall I expect the viewing figures for the whole series (CBB 2007) to be no higher than CBB a year ago (even taking into account the Jade v. Shilpa disagreement which increased the audience substantially for about a week).

Let's hope they do drop to the point it makes it unprofitable to keep the BB house running and they turn it into a prison.
