Having worked door security for one
of London's most established security
companies (May I add, the first to introduce
the licencing of staff before it became
mandatory) for a while before I emigrated.
I had many assignments at gay venues, I
would say that, from my experiences, gay
men, not homosexuals, gay men are some of
the most prejudiced and bigoted people I
have ever met, if it wasn't for their over-the-top
campness, would fit right in with the far right.

If you listen to LBC in the morings, you would realise Nick is right. The stuff that comes out in the a.m. on the way to work, is funny, but no way would a straight man be able to say it.

My vehicle is (on the inside, fundamentally) a Series IIa Land Rover from 1971. Old-school landies are always quite 'straight', but this one has been quite noticeably modified by someone with strongly American tastes.

Consequently, it doesn't look just quietly straight, but outlandishly and suspiciously straight!

A colleague of mine has a Land Rover.
It has a sticker on the back:

I quite like that.

Just for some amusement here are some of my previous cars.

First car in my first real job.

Next was a Ford.

Dreadful colour. Mine was saluki bronze.
Exec motor with a Ford Transit engine.

This was quite a nice motor:

I modified the overdrdrive to get seven gears.

And this was a gem. Big lazy straight 6 pot. Four on the floor plus two overdrive ratios.

And this was a disaster. Top of the range Ford of the day. V6, fully loaded.
Handled like a pig. First engine managed 9k miles before it let go.

This Alpha Romero 164 Lusso was next. First front wheel drive for me. Three litre V6 and a bit of a beast. But an exhaust note to die for.

That Jag on the left was next. V12 engine. Very quick and very quiet.
I did over 100,000 miles in it. But when the fuel gauge goes down at the same rate the speedometer goes up it is an expensive motor to run.

Oh well. Citroen XM 3.0. All the bells and whistles. Including an electrically operated armrest.

Then a Toyota Camry. A very much under rated car.
Three litre quad cam V6. Silky smooth. And very fast.
Sure, it looks bland. But a wolf in sheeps clothing.
