They buy and use illegal drugs, get put in the slammer, and then claim compensation because denying them the illegal drug is against their human rights!!!!

My blood pressure is rising.

That's a win in my book.

How can you settle out of court on this?

Watched the item on the news - they're not asking to be allowed drugs, they're asking to be allowed to continue with their drug rehabilitation treatment apparently.

If they're denied medical treatment then it is almost certain, under present law, that their human rights have been breached.

The impoprtant thing for me is that the money they get is immediately withheld until their victims have been compensated. That seems fair.

The affects of taking drugs are self inducing. If you saw your arm off you would have no one to blame but yourself. No compensation should be forthcoming from the state.

The courts do not recognise any illegal activity that can be rectified or worth damages. You cannot take anyone to court because he did not pay you your share of a bank robbery.

This case is just starts with b and ends in ollocks.

How long before prisoners claim compensation for restraint of trade? After all, being locked up presumably reduces their opportunities to commit burglaries, muggings, etc.

OK I should have said 'didn't need to win'.

How could they settle out of court ? Easy. They do it all the time. This didn't really bother me that much when I heard it. Maybe I'm starting to become immune to ridiculous headlines like this.
