Default Muslims' anger as London Olympics clash with Ramadan

Whatever will it be next?

Quote:
The 2012 London Olympics have been plunged into controversy by the discovery that the Games will clash with Ramadan, the most holy month in the Islamic calendar.

The clash will put Muslim athletes at a disadvantage as they will be expected to fast from sunrise to sunset for the entire duration of the Games.

In 2012, Ramadan will take place from July 21 to August 20, while the Olympics run from July 27 to August 12.

An anticipated 3,000 Muslim competitors are expected to be affected.
Are we to close it down, move it, or just get on with it?

Normaly I would say just get on with it.

However, the Olympics are supposed to be about coming together as friends through sport and the world needs some serious healing at the moment. Thus I think they should move it.

Any other time though, then Muslims wishes should recieve equal attention to others, no more, no less.

Olympics mainly take place in the day with some early evening events.

Ramadan should not be effected at all as in 2012 it will be in July, the height of our summer when it is daylight at 4am 'till 11pm.

Therefore,Muzzers fasting from dawn 'till dusk will be able to attend, watch or even compete in the Olympics without being effected by them one tiny bit.

If the Olympics had not been at the same time as their Ramadam it would have only brought on another complaint like the Test matches being played,or the Proms.

They will say and do anything to dismantle what we have, and thus give themseves even more special treatment at the expense of the British peoples.

My thoughts exactly! If politicians continue to obey the diktats of the PC brigade the BNP will get a Westminster seat before UKIP!

Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of the London-based Islamic Human Rights Commission, said: "They would not have organised this at Christmas. It is equally stupid to organise it at Ramadan.
You don't think that's a fair comment then?

Remember the Olympics is a global event, not just for Britain.

It think peoples dislike for Muslims is getting the better of them.

And people wonder why hate is building.

However, this comment is more reasonable

Quote:
I know that exceptions exist in Islam where Muslims need not fast if circumstances dictate otherwise. Such exceptions include travelling, medical treatment and others. They can make up for non fasting days by fasting on the same number of days that were missed at a later date. This is perfectly acceptable in Islam.
If that is the case then it is not such a big deal.

The BNP will likely get two seats in Parliament at the next election.

What do you base that statement on? You wishing for the BNP to get 2 seats at Westminster doesn't mean it'll happen, I wish for a UKIP government!
