Default Blair laid bare: the article that may get you arrested

Quote:
In the guise of fighting terrorism and maintaining public order, Tony Blair's Government has quietly and systematically taken power from Parliament and the British people. The author charts a nine-year assault on civil liberties that reveals the danger of trading freedom for security - and must have Churchill spinning in his grave
A long article, but a very worthwhile read:

I believe it is, along with the Grauniad.

This article & similar ones in both papers give a clue that King Tone's reign is coming to an end.

Both the Independent and the Guardian are left of centre papers but are Lib Dem biassed though will support Bliar ito do the Conservatives down.
The Guardian was original the Manchester Guardian which historically was the main Liberal paper and when it transferred to London some 25 years ago it maintain its political stance

Imagine yourself a school teacher and an undetermined number of your students came in contact with a child from another class while playing in the recess yard.

This child had a contagious disease which some of your students may have contracted.

Your responsibility is to keep ALL of the students safe, continue their lessons and prevent those who might be infected from harming those who may not be.

First, you would let all the children know that it is important that they pay close attention and do exactly as you say.

Then, you would ask them who was playing with Nigel outside.

Those who weren't would be separated from the others.

And so on you'd go until you had identified as best as possible, who was likely to be infected.

Of course the children might not want to sit away from the children who were their best friends. And they might not like being told not to touch each other. And they might not like the idea that they were being included in this silly 'round up.' They might say that they feel fine and that there was no danger of anyone at all becoming sick. And the children in the unsuspected group might cry out that it isn't fair for you to segregate the other kids and that it isn't the way their FORMER teacher would do things.

Well, the truth is this.

There are people amongst us who are infected with a belief that our system of government must be abolished by any means necessary. These people look normal, they act normal, the speak normally and the few who may be slightly different in some way are readily defended by those who are uninfected out of a misplaced sense of polity and generosity of spirit. Because if these infected ones have their way their asymmetrical violent and non-violent methods of warfare and political/social conquest will lead to their becoming our masters.

This is written in their 'play book' the Koran.

As the teacher who is responsible for the children's safety and the perpetuation, protection and preservation of the learning process, the classroom and the school itself, you need to exercise control over the situation as best as you can in this highly unusual set of circumstances.

The former teacher may have done things in a certain characteristic manner but he never had these circumstances to deal with, did he?

The easy thing to do would be to pretend there was no danger at all and to let the little buggers get sick or not as chance would dictate.

But that is not the attitude of a good, responsible, caring teacher.

So, you do what you must even in the face of whiny, confused kids who don't understand that these measures you are enacting are for their own good.

And days later if it turns out that none of the children get sick your only thanks will be the snarly attitudes of the little darlings saying, there was no danger at all and that all you wanted to do was to play games and exert your control over the children.

What a thankless job you have. What kind of parents raise children such as these?
