Default Why England F***** Sky Three 10 pm

Tonight, Sky Three (Freeview channel 11) at 10 pm, Francis Fulford Why England F*****, Quote: "The opinionated aristocrat airs his views on the state of the country, explaining why he feels the English people have lost their sense of identity".

At last, a programme raising the anti a bit.

Should be amusing to see both how the programme is presented, whether the aristocrat is described as a fruitcake or nut, and just as to whether the 'English' actually give a damn.

Default Programme on Sky 3

Was the programme any good Andy? I didn't see your posting in time to watch it myself.

Default

It was amusing only for the constant use of expletives in describing things, events, etc. I did not know what to expect, and perhaps should have not been surprised from what I saw. I often think that these'toffs' are set up soley for the purpose of not only exposing themselves as stupid right-wing bigots, but also to ridicule whatever philosophy they come out in support of.

The programme touched on issues such as the attack on male status within modern society, political corectness, disability labels, and post-war 'modern' architecture, which he clearly hated.

If anything, it was only worthwhile watching because of the core issue, which got a bit lost during the programme, of why the English have a problem with national identity. I would hope to see many more along this theme, and thus raise the stakes on the whole position and direction of England in the 21st C.
