Default Highbury stadium

For the uninitiated Arsenal are moving to a new football stadium just down the road from Highbury and were planning to sell off mementos from Highbury including the seats at £19.99 each. Sadly for those ,particularly season ticket holders, who wanted to buy the seat they had sat in for years Arsenal has run foul of the EU as the paint on the seats contains a minute amount of Cadmium which can theoretically cause infertility in men and the EU have advised it would be dangerous to sell the seats!!!!

Does this mean Arsenal supporters are, theoretically, sterile?

I think the EU should pay more attention to Arsene Wenger's culinary skills as Head Chef at the Marriot.

I was one of those who ordered a seat and was very disappointed to receive an E-mail the other day telling me that due to an EU direction I would no longer be able to receive my purchase.

Is there anywhere that the EU won't stick their noses? It is, of course, a second blow in the space of a few days to football fans, who, from next year will have to pay about £150 extra in subscription fees to watch Premiership matches, after the EU insisted that Sky Sports should not have a monopoly on showing Premiership games. Who exactly, one wonders, have either of these directions helped? Maybe the EU just likes telling people what to do.
