Well I do not think it is possible (or it makes sense) to measure IQ by this way - I would say you can measure the difference of 5 units or higher, so I'm rather posting this as a curiosity.

Remember that some of the most famous mathematicians were French - Fourrier, La Grange etc. (even though they are eating frogs :twisted

Moreover, Germans on the first place means Czech, French and English will never accept this

Germany coming top doesn't surprise me one bit - I've NEVER met a stupid German. They have always clearly been intelligent. Germany is, after all, the nationality which invented the wartime rockets. German scientists were quickly grabbed by both American and Russian forces at the end of WW2. These German rocket scientists developed the space programmes of both the USA and the USSR (Russia).

So, we (the UK) get 8th place and France languishes at Number 19 - almost out of the 'Top 20' altogether. France scoring badly is no surprise - after all, their brains are in their underpants aren't they?

Default Thanks Jarda

How do you receive German Televison, Jarda - by satellite? Can you get Sky News from the UK? Tell me which televison channels from UK/europe you can receive, please. How do we get Czech Television in UK? Is it broadcast on satellite?

By the way, I'm a great fan of your President Klaus. He does not like the EU. Therefore, he is a good man .

Satellite of course even though I am able to catch direct signals from retranslation stations in Bavaria and Austria. From UK channels I have only Sky news and BBC World service (which I usually ignore). THere is quite a few stations there inlcuding Turkish, Algerian, Morrocan and for Al Jazeera. And of course a throng of commercial channels but they are ****.

Yep, Klaus. After his harsh criticism of EU Social Democrats wanted him get gagged by stripping him of funding and subordinating him to ministry of foreign affairs some time ago. Fortunately, they failed miserably.

Default Maths and India

Jarda wrote earlier this evening (above in this thread): Remember that some of the most famous mathematicians were French - Fourrier, La Grange etc. (even though they are eating frogs ).

My reply: That's news to me. I understand that the best mathematicians in the world come from India 8) .

President Klaus of the Czech Republic is one of the best Heads of State in Europe .

I'm not bothered what the results say. There has been no mass testing of IQ's in any country, thus the figures here are bases on small samples and thus biased.

What do IQ tests really prove anyway?

All I know is British people have been at the heart of innovation, coming up with more ideas and invetions than any nation on the planet. That means we are up there in the intelligence stakes.

Times Online
One of the most stupid articles ever- as it says the cold winters increase IQ and the most stupid country is Serbia which has very cold winters.

That can be applied to all humans, thus relatively, we are sill up there. True that in the scheme of things, humans are just about beating apes. Just.
