Default Most useless Asbo award (1)

Quote:
A prolific car thief has been banned from every car park in England and Wales after action by Tyneside police.
Between April and July 2005, Malcolm Pattison, from Newcastle, was convicted eight times for vehicle crime.

Now he has been given a two-year Anti Social Behaviour Order (Asbo) and banned from entering any public car park in England and Wales.

The order, imposed by Newcastle magistrates, only allows Pattison to enter car parks as a car passenger.
so how the hell can it be enforced - if he is a car thief he isn't driving his own car to the car parks is he?

Also, how can car parks country wide be effectively policed against this man?

Why isn't this cretin in jail?

What on earth is this ASBO going to do, even if it could be policed properly? Can't the guy just nick cars from off the street?

How on earth did we manage to become governed by such complete and utter morons?

C-Steam, do you have a link for the story? /Scotgirl.

and from the same area:-

Quote:
A teenager from Northumberland has been banned from sticking his fingers up at members of the public.
David George Key, 18, of Sycamore Avenue, Blyth, was given the order when he appeared at Bedlington Youth Court.

He faces up to five years in jail if he is caught giving a V-sign or making any other obscene gesture with his fingers.
5 years???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'd imagine he'd be better off beating up old ladies - that's normally just community service (the punishment, not the crime!)

I thought the v sign was something to be proud of as it was supposedly given by the English bowmen to the French at Agingcort?

That's the story.

It was a gesture of defiance: "Look you *?%*@*'s, we've still got our fingers! (the two fingers used to release arrows from a bow - the French used to cut them off any bowman that they captured).

So, the old V-sign is not an obscene gesture, though it's often accompanied by strong language, it is as it always was a gesture of defiance.

By the way - any arrests yet from that protest outside the Danish embassy?
