Default Placards, what they must say for the Police to intervene

Quote:
Police, criticised last week for standing by while protesters displayed slogans such as "Massacre those who insult Islam", ordered demonstrators to remove Socialist Worker stickers saying "Blair must go".

And Christopher Booker in today's Sunday Telegraph
Quote:
Blair's religious tolerance

We have all been astonished by the pictures of Sir Ian Blair's Metropolitan Police officers standing impassively alongside Muslim protesters brandishing artfully prepared placards with slogans such as "Behead those who insult Islam" and "Be prepared for the real Holocaust".

Could these po-faced officers have been drawn from the same ranks as the three policemen who on October 26 last year stopped John Banda, a devout, 74-year-old Christian, near London Bridge? As I reported, Mr Banda, formerly the treasurer of the United Church of Zambia, was displaying a placard containing two quotations from the New Testament: "Jesus Christ is Lord. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out."

The policemen told him in no uncertain fashion that this proclamation was in breach of the Public Order Act 1986. If he did not remove it at once, he would be arrested and charged with displaying written material which was "threatening, abusive or insulting" and intended to "stir up racial hatred".

Could Sir Ian Blair please explain what on earth he thinks he is up to?

How about a sticker with "Sir Ian Blair must go". For the first time i am warming the the UKIP proposal for elected police chiefs. Then again blair has been too politicised as is. I`d just like the chance to express a view on "Sir" Ian and would move to London to do it.

He should have displayed a poster praising Allah. The police would probably given him a lift home afterwards!

Am I the only one to find this really worrying ? It's almost as if it's being done to deliberately provoke people. I know full well that if I were to parade around London (or anywhere else) carrying a placard saying something like "Zero immigration - Now !" I would be carted off to the slammer, forcibly have a DNA sample taken, and probably be charged with racial harrasment.

But apparently it's OK to march around London carrying placards inciting murder provided your skin colour is a shade or two darker than your average caucasian, in fact, it's more than OK, you will get police protection to do it :!:  Perhaps the MacPherson report is correct ! The police are institutionally racist ! Racist towards anyone who is not from a Labour voting politically correct Downing Street approved ethnic minority. We should protect the right of ethinc minorities to break the law by inciting murder, afer all, 'It's their culture !'  If the police didn't respect their culture it might mean the police are racist

It looks like a case of 'One rule for them, one rule for us !' ,and that is dangerous. Very, very dangerous. I could not think of a better way of stirring up inter racial tensions.

I worry for my country, seriously, I do !

Remember the fuel protests? If those protesting had been gay muslims instead of hetero white Christians(ish), we'd all be running around on 5p per litre petrol by now.
