Default Counties?

have you been "Brainwashed"?

It's soo easy to do nowadays, I reckon about 90% of the population don't know what true County they live in?, see easy isn't it to loose your identity by Brainwashing?, the first step to being a Drone is to lose your identity!, your "belonging", your History and local culture

London is in the County of Middlesex

the Lake District is in Westmoreland

Manchester is in Lancashire

Birmingham is in the main in Warwickshire but parts are in Worcestershire, ie Yardly

Liverpool is also in Lancashire

there are no such Counties as East and West Sussex only "Sussex"

West Midlands County does not exist

Gtr Manchester does not exist

Gtr Lonon does not exist

etc

etc

etc

Yeah, being a Middlesaxon myself, it really irks me when people are like "Middlesex *titter* huh!?". And then I say, "You do know that parts of central London are actually in Middlesex, right?", and they are like, "huh?".

I mean, I like London- ****, I love London-, but Middlesex is distinctly not London. Not to the people who live here. And whilst we don't have the same county traditions and kinda local patriotism like, maybe, Yorkshire or elsewhere (btw, what the hell is Humberside, east/west/south/north/dentral etc yorkshire!??!!?), we are definitely not London.

I looked all over, and I cannot find a SINGLE map for sale for actually lists the REAL counties. I am thinking of making my own and distributing it, but that would entail having a picture of the REAL UK, and I just can't find one anywhere anyway.

BTW, I do think that the ffect, if not the desire, of carving England up INTO phpbb_unhistorical and arbitrary counties, and metroploitan counties (like London) or general regions (like Humberside), is all a part of the process of dismantlign the notion of ENGLAND as a coherent and valid entity.

Ya know, after my above post I managed to fidn that map! But it still isn't a full-sized map of the nation but with the PROPER county-boundaries.. which would be useful.

Nth somerset is basically the bit of somerset that used to be somerset then got pinched to be part of avon but now is back in somerset but is known as north somerset to differentiate it from the bit that always has been somerset and always known as somerset.

Hope this is clear.
