i am fed up being told that if it wasnt for these people(whatever) wouldnt be here today. That is not a valid reason for them to do whatever they want. If the stall is a fire-hazard, then that is the end of the matter. This is 2005, not 1945, things are different now. Just live with it.

Default dim tim

Regarding MKP’s posting of 13.11.2005 at 12.25 pm. I notice this ‘Tim’ does not give his surname. Obviously he doesn’t wish to be located and telephoned by people understandably angered at his selfish, ungrateful and anti-patriotic remarks. He sounds like the type (thin on the ground in Derbyshire, thankfully) who would turn up to vote for the euro or EU Constitution in a referendum :evil: .

I wonder if his real name is Tim at all. Sounds like one of their put downs of everything British. They not only want to deny the future from having a history but they also punish those who made that history. It is only a matter of time before the British take up arms against the enemy within and I am not talking about race or religion but politics and social "reformers".

In Salisbury the street collectors were banned except for 11 and 12 Nov.
(A bit late to start collecting ON Remembrance Day, I would have thought?)

The excuse is in two parts;
a) There are not enough days in the year to accommodate all those who wish to collect money on the street, so poppy sellers have to be 'rationed' to two days. (Why not allocate a week and ration everyone else around it, I say?)
b) There are collection points in the shops already, so we don't actually need street sellers. (Question: How much does RNIB actually collect from the Sootys they leave in shops for months?)
