Today's Daily Express reports that Lambeth Council has backed down and now intends to allow the use of the word Christmas on its festive lighting displays. The Express further reported today that the council re-confirmed its intention to hold a Christmas Carol Service at Lambeth and to display a tree on its premises.

I understand the London Borough of Lambeth is presently administered by a Conservative-Liberal 'Democrat' coalition. Whilst some people may jump at the chance to blame the Conservatives for this alleged attempt to ban the use of the word Christmas (from council lighting displays over Christmas and New Year) - to me the whole thing stinks of the politically-correct and fanatically pro-euro Fiberal 'Democrats'. I do not believe that the paid officials of Lambeth would have announced an intention to move towards using 'Wintervil' instead of Christmas as a theme without prompting and the green light from elected politicians first - needless to say, the Fib-'Dems' are the obvious suspects.

I have no doubt whatsoever that a huge majority of the residents of Lambeth of whatever ethnic origin (and for that matter of whatever religion, if any) will be more than happy to see the usual Christmas lighting displays across Lambeth Borough with the word Christmas used extensively.
