I read in the Mail yesterday that the stamps have now been withdrawn as a result of the protests at untold cost to the Royal Mail.

When the Roya Mail caves in to petty compalints by petty individuals in this manner all is finally lost.

It should stand its ground - the stamp depicted a painting is all.

COWARDS !!!

The alleged threat to clog up the mail system is at worst a form of terrorism and at best, blackmail - to think they'd give in to these threats.. this is a sad day if 'tis true.

COWARDS !!!

I don't care what they put on a stamp so long as my letters are delivered.

As the Christian religion as nowt to do with Muslims - why should they care what we put on our stamps during our religious festival. (I use the term 'our' loosely - it ain't mine)

What can we do to punish Royal Mail for this cowardly act. Organisations HAVE to be held to account for this PC pandering. Every time they give in, it fires up the proponents of PC even more.

Avoid using snail-mail wherever possible.
Send everything by e-mail .. documents, letters, files, pictures and greetings.

Hands up anyone who has ever seen a 68p stamp. I can't recall ever having see one (but then I haven't sent anything by mail for so long that a second-class could be 68p by now for all I know).

Good job I'm not in charge of the Royal Mail. I'd withdraw the offending stamp and replace it with one that has a photo of a dismembered cow on it.

You could always do what the Hindus threatened to do - send an unstamped letter of complaint to Royal Mail head office.

Intbel said (three postings earlier in this thread - posting of 11.11.2005 at 1.36 pm) that he sends everything by e-mail  .

My reply to Intbel: But what about people who don’t have e-mail/computers/mobile telephones? How do you correspond with them? 50% of the population do not have a computer and are not connected to the net.
