Default Nigel Farage's Night of the Long Knives

At the Birmingham meeting Nigel said he wanted to change the rules in order to expel members more quickly. He wants a letter sent out to members asking them to approve the proposed changes. Those on his hit list include:

    David Abbott
    Del Young
    Eric Edmond
    John West
    Alison West
    Lynnda Robson
    Geoffrey Collier
    Martin Harvey
    Piers Merchant
    Gerard Batten
    Geoffrey Kingscott
    Roger Knapman
    Greg Beaman

I need to renew my membership so that I can join such an august list. junius, what is your source for such scandalous reportage?

UKIP has already lost 3 MEPs, the expulsion of 2 more for whatever reason would make the party look ridiculous.

The thinning out of the NEC, people elected by the party membership, would appear to me to be anti-democratic.

He was quite open about doing this at Birmingham. In conversations to certain NEC members he mentioned names. He wants them out as soon as possible.

Martin Harvey? One of the most loyal, hard-working, dedicated servants of the party you could hope to meet.

    And two MEPs?

To the OP: 'You cannot be serious'

How about the rest of the party having the rules changed so just one member can be expelled?

If rules are to be changes, how about allowing Returning Officers to disqualify candidates, without approval from above, if they think it justified?

FYI,Farage isn't known as Subsidiarityman for nothing in the hard Eurosceptic world.

He is still in the process of sliding even more to the Left to join the other Conservatives, led by the chief of Subsidiaritymen,David Cameron.

I'm very sorry, but many of you have been completely fooled by Farage and his cabal team.

You all need to see the writing on the wall before its too late, and make a final effort to reform the party and beat Farage and his Conservative masters.

Indeed not. When Derek Clark was taking all the flak for Farage in the East Mids for signing the treacherous Ind Dem Group "Bucharest Declaration" on behalf of UKIP, committing our MEPs to subsidiarity and to mere reform of the CAP rather than its abolition, he or his acolytes tried to argue he was just acting out of party loyalty by circulating an email from Farage in which Farage had pleaded for one of the MEPs to go to Bucharest because he had personally been closely involved in the wording of the declaration.
