"New allegations of IND-DEM assistance scandal"

I wouldn't normally post anything from this source, but this is an interesting snippet about something that has cropped up here numerous times before. It comes with a health warning due to the source!

UKIPwatch: New allegations of IND-DEM assistance scandal

UKIPwatcher was intrigued to receive some information from a fellow conspirator to the effect that the Parliament's Secretary General Harald Römer has apparently launched an investigation into the funding of at least 5 UKIP/EU Democrat staff members. An investigation has also been launched into the alleged plans to pay veteran eurosceptic campaigner Jens Peter Bonde to subsidise his future work for the EU Democrats.

This issue has cropped up a few times before in a similar vein. One of the open secrets in the European Parliament is that UKIP uses money from the IND-DEM group to pay its party staff. Mike Nattrass's assistant Denis Brookes took his former boss to an employment tribunal last year alleging that he was being paid using IND-DEM money when he was actually a UKIP regional organiser, although the case was eventually thrown out.

Tony you have sank to a new low posting anything from this website you know everything off it is complete trash , i'm sure this would have made the papers if this was true
Membership of the European Union costs Britain £60.1 billion per annum UKIP wants to leave the European Union and spend the money here in Britain.

To put this figure in perspective, just £1 billion would pay for:

    222,000 hip replacements
    Or 46,893 nurses
    Or 38,782 teachers
    Or 34, 585 police officers

I did make it very clear that the source is unreliable and should be read in that light. However the site appears at number 9 in the Google results for 'UKIP' so claims made there are of some signficance.

The issue of inappropriate hiring of staff that he writes about is indeed serious (although UKIP maintains that it has now fixed this entirely) - as we have discussed on this forum many times before, dating back several years. You can hardly say that they weren't warned. Whether there is an investigation into UKIP employment practices is another matter.

Would you be entirely surprised if the EU is now investigating UKIP with the EU elections looming? It was surely only a matter of time before this sloppiness caught up with the party.

Also, don't forget that Farage still hasn't revealed what he is currently under investigation for, and this could provide the answer.

Hence I think that I had some justification in posting it; i.e. it has a reasonable chance of being true, amd might solve another unanswered question.
