DK, not everybody posting on this forum (or this thread) is either UKIP or ex-UKIP.

Those who are ex-UKIP have, like Barboo pointed out, taken a long time to be pushed to the point where they left. Not everybody who has left UKIP has done it in a blaze of publicity - some didn't even tell their Regional Organisers, let alone this forum.

Those ex-UKIPpers leave for a variety of reasons, be it colleagues with insane conspiracy theories, the forming of cliques sponsored (or at least not stopped) by party officers who should have a better idea of man-management, or the inability of the leadership to react positively to the new ideas that come via the grass roots who, having worked hard in their local patch, know more about what would attract those particular non- and ex-voters than the leaders, who are naturally busy with their day jobs.

It hasn't helped that Trixy, for example (although not the only one) has shown a very immature style in her communications with the members, both on this forum and elsewhere. A lot of us miss Heather's quiet competence, for instance.

For the LPUK Director of Communications (nice title, BTW) to respond to both UKIP members and non-members in such a way places grave doubts as to the suitability of the Libertarian party as a new home for those of us who, for what ever reason, feel that UKIP is not the political party we hoped it was.

But then what does one expect from a party that is held together by nothing other than hatred; hatred of the EU might be justified, but hate is a corroding influence that has held UKIP back.

You ignore the fact that your leaders work themselves and their bank balances to the bone to try to do the best for this party; you ignore the fact that you have leaders who are straight down the line -- Gerard Batten is, for instance, one of the most scrupulously honest people I have ever met -- and, in the main, honestly trying to advance the cause.

And what do you do? You moan about them securing money to try to help the party get on; you leak stories to the papers; you revel in every scandal and you attack the most honest leadership in politics (other than LPUK's, of course).

If I were Nigel, or Gerard, or most of the others, I would have given up by now. For heaven's sake, you expect to be attacked this viciously by your enemies -- but by those who are supposed to be your friends...?

Let me make this absolutely clear: had UKIP's members not been the absolute ******* pits, I would probably still be with the party. Unfortunately, too many of them are and I cannot associate with such back-stabbing, narrow-minded, evil little ********.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.
    Spot on DK!

    The truth hurts!
That's why we are blessed with such Freedom Fighters as Nigel and Gerard ---prepared to stay the course despite all the **** thay have to endure.

I am sure some of the nastiest elements are batting for the other sides for they do the cause no good at all.

I think you will find that all parties, even thise of moderate size, are exactly the same. If the Libertarian Party has not reached that point yet it is probably because it is so small that everybody knows each other.

The sweeping collective condemnation of 'the majority' of UKIP members is hardly an inspiring example of pulling together.
