Since I don't know what you are talking about I will take the risk of saying yes, please elaborate. I might not be considered one of the "good folk" though!?

He's referring to a claim (I have no idea whether it is true or just another UKIP smear) that Petrina requested that the money could be used to fund a salary for the Chairman (i.e. her). This was, if true, presumably before anyone knew that Tom Wise was siphoning the money off illegally.

    Close.

Not for the Chairman's position as such....

Everybody in Brussels knew about that money... and there were no concerns, because it was not illegal, and he was quite open about it.

Do you imagine that Tom Wise was the only MEP with a paying agent account? Why do you think the other UK parties have remained so silent on this one?

If it wasn't illegal, why did he have to pay it all back? And why did he buy a car with the money? And why hasn't he taken any action at all against the newspapers accusing him of fraud?

The word "illegal" implies that an action is against the law. If something is against 'house rules' that does not mean it is against any law.

Are you suggesting that his purchase of a car using tax payers' money from his expense fund that he had 'technically' siphoned off was legal?

I don't know. Which law says that MEPs shouldn't buy cars for themselves using their expense funds?

gc, you also forgot to answer my previous question:
Also, are you in a position to confirm or deny that there is still an on going investigation by the police (or some other authority) into him, and also an internal disciplinary action by UKIP, please?
