UKIP’s leader Nigel Farage has committed his party to stopping Scottish MPs from voting on English laws in the British Parliament, following the rejection of a sensible English Parliament policy by the ultra-unionist UKIP National Executive – the new policy will mimic the Conservative Party.
Nigel Farage believes the proposals will help prevent strain being put on the United Kingdom following the creation of the Scottish Parliament, but is merely a sticking plaster..
Mr Farage also expressed his concern over the risk that English Nationalism will “build up”, and highlighted his personal “British” credentials.
“People will become increasingly resentful that decisions are being made in England by people from other parts of the UK on matters that that English people did not have a say on elsewhere,”
“I think it is a dangerous thing to allow resentment to build up in a country. We have got to make the rules fair now.”
Yes, there's no evidence that UKIP's Spring Conference will even discuss an English Parliament: Candidate Training Day - UK Independence Party
Once the NC has rejected it as an option, Conference Delegates will not be afforded opportunity to debate and adopt it. Top down leadership prevails on this subject.
