From the official website:
The news that disgraced former European Commission President, Jacques Santer has been appointed as boss of the EU's bailout fund, improbably named the Special Purpose Investment Vehicle (Spiv), is 'almost laughable,' said Nigel Farage MEP, the UKIP leader.
"The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum," he said.
"The key to dealing with this crisis, as with any crisis in the markets is confidence. What sort of confidence can anybody have in somebody who was even the EU fired for incompetence."
The plain fact is that the name Santer is synonymous in the public mind with financial corruption. It is quite incredible that someone of his reputation and past actions would be appointed head of an EU bailout fund.
Farage went on: "When I first heard this news I thought it was an April Fool joke. But it is actually true. It is the taxpayers of the EU who are being taken for fools by this latest move. It just shows, the EU does not care one iota about either public opinion or corruption in how the whole rotten institution is financed."

Why are you repeating posts Blog Bot??
Under the circumstances I think it reasonable to repeat my reply:-
Nigel took over UKIP along time ago - talk about the lunatic running the asylum!!
Those that know the way Nigel Farage runs his EUKIP think every day is April Fools Day!!
UKIP, Britain's fourth largest political party.
I agree it is a nonsense Blog Bot posting the same thing twice?!
Anyway with regads your posts you are either :-
A. A long standing EUKIP member being asked to say what you are posting.
B. A very new member who hasn't a clue how bad EUKIP is.
C. One of the many useful idiots Nigel seems to attract to his sinkng ship!
Which is it KrisH?
Neither, I am the following:
A. A UKIP member of three years who's planning to renew his membership when it expires.
B. A member who has every clue on how great UKIP really is; and how much better it is without the likes of detractors like yourself, Warry.
C. Yes, it's thanks to Nigel Farage that I found out about UKIP; it's thanks to Nigel Farage that I am now a Eurosceptic.
Sinking ship? I don't think so. Unfortunately for you, opinion polls say otherwise!
UKIP, Britain's fourth largest political party.
Albeit you sadly don't realise it yet but you are already standing up to your waist in water and given a few more months you'll be swimming for the lifeboats with Nigel.
Unlike a good Captain Nigel won't be the last to leave the sinking ship that is his EUKIP. He will be first over the side into the House of Lords if his plans work out.
For the very few good bits, which he does have, Nigel uses EUKIP for his own selfish ends.
One day you will realise you was duped!
Let’s look at the facts shall we, Warry?
Nigel Farage was elected UKIP leader in 2006 by a majority; and in that time has taken UKIP from being a fringe party to Britain’s fourth largest political party. Under his leadership the Party has seen unprecedented success at local, national and European elections. In 2009, the Party finish second ahead of the then governing Labour party, on what was an impressive night for the Eurosceptic party. In total, UKIP gained 16.5 per cent of the vote and increased its number of MEPs to 13. Almost 2.5 million people voted UKIP in 2009!
In the 2010 general election, UKIP increased its share of the popular vote by a staggering 50 per cent; in the 2011 local elections the Party increased it’s share of the vote by a third on the previous local election. It has now more councillors than at any other time in the Party’s history. It’s also polling at it’s highest in national elections since its inception. No other UKIP leader as ever led this Party to as much success as Nigel Farage has.
These facts speak for themselves.
UKIP, Britain's fourth largest political party.
There have been many leaders of political parties, Ed Milliband is the latest, who were elected by the majority BUT that doesn't make them any good does it!!?
As to your list of EUKIP's successes they are sadly a joke and completely irrelevant to helping get these United Kingdoms out he EU.
Leaving aside the FACT that EUKIP only has around 19 elected officials out of a possible 19500 in 18 years their real legacy of non -achievment is that, and all serious Eurosceptics think this, if an In or Out Referendum was held tomorrow there is NO guarentee the Outs would win.
So there you have the real FACTS KrisH - Nigel's EUKIP is now sadly a complete irrelevance.

KrisH
Your facts are correct but you will not change the mind of Niall Warry, because he is a long term Anti-UKIP campaigner.
Whatever peoples view of UKIP, they are getting better results than the BNP or the English Democtats. This country needs a party to stand up for the Anti-EU Patriots.
At the present time the UKIP is the only Anti-EU party that is getting a decent percentage in local and national elections.
