For the main reason see post 30 .. evidently you have not read it properly. (Like I said - not the brightest are you?).
    --------

Basically, Nigel Farage is a brilliant orator and shrewd political manipulator but not a Leader; he proved that when he last had the job. He has proven not a good judge of who he chooses as a successor either - witness Lord P; nor of who he chose in the past for various posts. (No need to mention who - everyone here knows who!)
There are many other reasons too: he is prone to temper tantrums, bullying tactics and condescension to try to belittle those who oppose him; has repeatedly ignored the NEC or attempted to by-pass what he does not like; but as far as I am concerned - most of all he has shown he does not have a future vision for UKIP.
Worse: He is much too tied-up with Brussels and his fiefdom over there. That is no good for UKIP.

UKIP ... MUST become more UK-centric now up to the next general election or fade into obscurity. A Leader must now concentrate on the UK and UKIP. To Hell with Brussels! the MEPs are nothing but a useless distraction except at European election times when the media feeding frenzy is useful to us to gain prominence in the public domain. I do not believe Nigel Farage will do that, nor is capable of that.

The only candidate to not only show he has a strategy for the future of UKIP and the country, but has proven his worth in this regard with his policy groups which were stunningly successful in producing radical policies to take UKIP into the general election is David Campbell-Bannerman. Accordingly I shall vote for him.

Tim Condon might possibly make a good leader too but is an unknown quantity and has not been involved with the party for long. Winston is no doubt a good chap but is a total unknown.
That's it - so now you know.

If you had remained a member of the party with access to the members website you would have known all this from me weeks ago.
I have to say that forum however is now of no use as it is too heavily censored and all teh detail of opinions of the candidates has been deleted. Fat lot of use that is!

Just to clarify, are you saying that the UKIP webmaster is now censoring posts on the official forum from NEC members? You must be chuffed about that

I am saying that and I am not chuffed about it.

You know my thoughts on censorship.

Are you going to delete my posts too?

Very interesting and much of what you say I could have said

However IMO NigeŁ has always been that bad hence my stance against him over the years.

Are you claiming NigeŁ has only just become as you describe

If not your defence of him over the years was very misplaced don't you think?

I can confirm what DD has said above is factually correct.

It is quite astonishing. Do you think that there is a valid reason (even if you disagree with that reason), or is this simply a Farage controlled staff member editing the forum for partisan purposes?

Would you consider this evidence that the electoral process has been corrupted? It is really quite serious, despite how much I laughed when I first read it.

It is very rare that posts are deleted, and almost always they are by forum trolls/spammers. For normal posters the most that we do is snip personal abuse and remove potentially libellous material.

You are blinkered baron Von Lotsov to the reality. Perceive the truth:-

NF stabbed the party in the back by abrogating his responsibility to the party as Leader - by not taking the party into the general election and racing off into realms of selfish self-agrandisement "to concentrate" on trying to win an unwinnable seat in Buckingham.

And yes, he has damaged himself by doing that. He lost my support once he resigned. And many others in the party think the same. He is damaged goods.
He has also put himself into the position of possibly being humiliated if he looses this leadership election. Why should anyone in UKIP want to vote for a Leader who has already declared they did not want the job when they had it and at a crucial moment in the history of the party, and now wants to come back? There are other perfectly good candidates available.
It is most likely he will be voted in again, however, simply because most of the 16,000 members know him better than the others; but that is not necessarily going to be the best outcome for UKIP - having a Leader who might suddenly ditch the party again on a whim of self-indulgence.

Yes I agree the Buckingham venture was a mistake. I have always said on here I don't think he is perfect and he does make mistakes. That's why I was relieved when Lord Pearson took over in that he was a safe pair of hands, someone who does not make mistakes. Anyway, we do not have an endless supply of talented and well know leader possibilities. We have to weigh things up, and whatever is decided it will be a compromise. I'm quite keen on Tim Congdon, but Tim has what Nigel hasn't and vice-versa. Actually I think it could work nicely if Nigel Farage does the EU party and Tim Congdon does the mainland one, because that way you have it covered and they could help each other out via their respective expertise. Opposites can work well together when each needs the help of the other. Nigel Farage has a lot of media exposure and is someone who if you stopped a random person in the street they would be able to tell you about him. Tim Congdon is an Einstein of economics but as will many academics they are not so good at doing public appearances. You can’t be an expert in everything, so the party should decide on fitting the character to the job. Nigel Farage I think does best over in the EU giving the rest of the EU parliament lessons in democracy.

Apparently DD says that he has always known Nige€'s weakness and is now happy to list them. However because I collectively call them CORRUPTION he takes issue with me as not having proof or being specific enough.

Its indeed a strange world for DD is now saying all the things I and others have said over the years and yet he once wanted me thrown out UKIP for saying them!!
