4. I'm lead to believe(allegedly) that the offer of help to Robin Page was made so that his forms could intentionally not be submitted so that a known trouble maker was not on the list? This could be a theory anyway? Finally, looking at other Regions, if it is any consolation to Robin Page, had he been number one candidate I'm sure Nigel would have found a way to get him toppled! Remember Nigel has the right to ignore the selection process if he wants as I recall from an earlier thread.
1. Yep, but you're there for more than 1 hour...
2. Yep, both args have been promoted.
3. He suggested the East and London should be rerun.

Late candidates
Regional lists may be altered after selection at short notice to accommodate high profile public figures with the agreement of other candidates on the list and subject to approval by the Political Committee.

Surely RP is a high profile public figure!

I don't know if this has been raised before:

Robin Page compensated over 'race' arrest - Telegraph

but it does look as if NF has a pretty dogged [no pun intended] character on this case.

Fascinating as this all is re payments and employees acting as agents etcetc,Robin Page has written an absolute corker of a letter asking Nigel to stand down and accusing him of all manner of impropriety plus we now know that Mrs Robinson`s money has been returned to her since she took matters to court .
All of which I would have thought should have elicited some sort of response from NF if he values his good name .
One can only imagine that he believes that it is best to ignore the whole thing on the basis that it will go away .No doubt Mark will come back with something or other but frankly I would have thought that something measured from the Leadership is called for in all the circumstances .
Robin is a member of UKIP he has openly attacked the Leader for lack of probity and asked for his resignation shouldn`t he be disciplined ? If not then we can all form our own conclusions whatever they may be.

Anyone capable of objective thought knows that RP's final paragraph is a pretty fair statement:

'In my view Nigel your honesty and integrity has descended to the same level as Edward Heath. I am disappointed as I considered you as a friend and taking on my mother’s philosophy I still like you, as I don’t bear grudges. However Nigel for the sake of UKIP and the good people making up the grass roots – stand down before you do any more damage to the anti-EU cause. You are not only bringing UKIP into disrepute, in my view, you are confirming that politics brings out the worst in people. Power and politics, however small and insignificant, corrupt – pathetic isn’t it?'

I am becoming ever more inclined to believe that NF's days are numbered and that in RP he has meet his nemesis.

How is RP different from NF. From what I've seen of his allegations on this forum his main grievance is that he has been denied his chance to get on the gravy train. No doubt he was a threat to NF and possibly stitched up with regard to his application but that doesn't make him any better than NF, just someone else wanting to make a quick euro.

Yes, that is possible - but I think what is known about him shows him to be a grinder rather than a stunt artist, has some humility rather than being an outright egotist and does appear to understand the boundaries of decent behaviour.

It is possible that his interest in becoming an MEP was simply mercenary, but from what we know he seems a serious individual unlikely take that course unless he had, primarily, a real conviction for the cause.
