I suspect that the context to which you're referring is the timing of GLW's comments. The facts are as follows:

Anna Lindh was stabbed at just after 4pm on Wenesday 10 September 2003
The severity of her injuries was not at first fully realised (CNN 11.9.03): "Initially, officials had described her condition as serious but not life-threatening"
GLW commented on the attack in postings to the SmartGroups Eurorealist message board entitled 'a patriot in Sweden' at 22:52:13, and 'patriots in Britain too - well done the Patriot in Sweden!' at 22:52:53 on 10 September 2003
Anna Lindh died at 5.29am on Thursday 11 September 2003.

The context therefore is that at the time he made his remarks GLW was commenting on an attack, not thought to have been life-threatening, on Ms Lindh, not on her murder.

The SmartGroups board is no longer available but I have copies of the above messages, showing the times and date of posting.

Also for the record the police were involved in the use of the UKIP list to tell the membership that if Rodney Atkinson became UKIP leader C.Booker and B. Jameson would STOP supporting UKIP. NO charge was brought as they deemed GLW had NOT broken any Data Protection laws. I believe the detail was that the list however acquired was only used for political purposes unlike A. Fuller who put the J .West video on You-Tube for the world to see.

I'm sure I'm wasting my time here but are we really meant to conclude that there is no problem in someone describing a "serious" stabbing of certain persons as (to quote the post of Tony B, quoting GLW) "a 'partiotic act'" so long as the person concerned does not subsequently die from their injuries?

If she had survived but suffered from "serious" mental or physical difficulties as a result of the stabbing is that worthy of a significantly different consideration of the comments of GLW than has occurred?

IU: You're not 'meant to' conclude anything. It's up to individuals to draw whatever conclusions they see fit.
They will be in a better position to do so if they have facts which are clear and accurate.

I note your reply Barboo, thanks for it. Are you willing to let the forum know what your conclusions were/are regarding the stabbing of Anna Lindh and the statement of GLW concerning the "serious" stabbing of Anna Lindh?

This woman was murdered Barboo and you are writing as if we are talking about whether Tom Wise is an UKIP MEP or not. I know your intellect will lead to me being denounced on this rather than you Barboo. That's life except for Lindh.

After Anna Lindh died, is there any record of GLW withdrawing, retracting, modifying, apologising for or otherwise commenting on his disgraceful description of the attack on her as a 'patriotic act'?

No.

He doesn't evem claim he was 'quoted out of context'.

Remember that this description of the attack was published **on the front page** of the Sunday Telegraph, and to make matters worse, GLW was described in the article as a 'prominent' eurosceptic (cough).

Quite why the likes of T.N. Warry and Barboo are unable to condemn his disgraceful comment which portrayed the eurosceptic movement in a very poor light is a mystery to me.
