REPLY: After he corruptly secured the election of Jeffrey Titford over Rodney Atkinson in 2000 by contravening the Data Protection Act, in conjunction with Nigel Farage, in circulating a virulently anti-Atkinson message put out by Christopher Booker and Bill Jamieson, then co-journalists for the Telegraph group, using (or, rather, mis-using) a database of UKIP members. Titford won the contest by a mere 15 votes.

After that exercise in corruption, GLW brought great discredit on the euroscreptic movement when the 'Sunday Telegraph' carried on its front page an article (by his 'Telegraph' mate Daniel Foggo) featuring his description of the murder of Anna Lindh, the Swedish Foreign Minister, as a 'patriotic act'.

After that, GLW and Nigel Farage fell out in a big way and GLW is consumed by an obsessive desire to oust Nigel.

Check the membership list of this forum and it runs to dozens of pages but less than 150 people have more than 500 posts (myself included!). The majority have less than 5. This and the "polls" carried out which get 20 or 30 votes shows to me that this forum is a small, inbred group of serial wingers and has become the natural home of former UKIPers and those who wish the party ill.

This suggestion is laughable! Most people I know go to great lengths to avoid GLW. His massive e-mails full of bile and bitterness are not worth reading.

Tell them what you think is going on. No attempt at a balanced view!

Did you see the voting figures for the SE MEP List. For a man on the ropes Nigel did very well.

We certainly did. It's a wonderful tribute to the SE region that so many members were motivated to vote. Is it true that there was around a 75% turn out in support of Farage, Marta and the others on the list? How did the SE turnout compare to that of the other regions?

I have said many times before I do not like all GLW says or the way he says it but like Serpico(Google it) it is a difficult job to combat corruption and if you are passionate you may end up ranting a little.

Anyway an NEC leaker believes GLW brings value to the struggle to root out the corruption in UKIP.

Also given rants over beating corruption I side with the odd rant

From what I remember Rodney would not have been a good MEP. He is an intellectual with poor people skills. In the early days Titford was a better choice but now he has gone native like the rest. Also if you have read Rodney's book he is fairly obsessed with the 'Hitler' connection and the EU which would NOT have sold well on the door steps.

As to the story surrounding Anna Lindh this is always quoted completely out of context. If you want to get a balanced view ring GLW on 01291 626562.

REPLY: I wouldn't disagree with these comments, T.N., but that is not the issue, is it?

GLW rails against 'corruption' but was guilty of it himself in the misuse of the UKIP database, which I take it you concede?

Just like MEPs such as Tom Wise, who get elected on a platform of 'exposing EU corruption' etc., and then boast to the 'News of the World' that they can make 'shedloads' of money from claiming every single allowance they are entitled to, and make false claims about how much they are paying their researchers

OK we may just have to agree to disagree but you might like to answer why you think Rodney would have been a good MEP? As to the use of the data base I'll need to get back to you but I doubt GLW sneeked into a UKIP office and stole it If he did use it then I assume he was given it ? As to the Swedish Minister you really should hear GLWs side of the story for a balanced view.

Default GLW and Nigel Farage together illegally misused the UKIP database

REPLY: I think you misunderstood me. I think probably Jeffrey Titford was the better man of the two for the job, though from my perspective working closely with Jeffrey for 20 months he was constantly outmanoevred by Nigel Farage.

Speaking of Nigel Farage, an e-mail sent by GLW to Nigel Farage at the European Parliament in January 2000 was leaked. It confirmed that between the two of them, they had illegallly misused a database of UKIP members in order to circulate the Booker-Jamieson letter
