When the BNP is good enough to repudiate ALL their connections with racist extreme groups in America and severed ALL their links then come back to me. Severing most of your links is NOT good enough.

What groups do we still have links with that you have issue with?

As this issue is the only criticism of the BNP that I have seen from him and it seemed a tad marginal to contemporary British politics to begin with I look forward to his reply to your post.

I wish to use it when in debate with yourselves on this forum.

Can you give the date of this "record"?

The date is significant because Marta's stance changed when she discovered the facts about the EU.

6th December 2004: Lecture by Marta:

Quote:
I believe this is not the time to draw up a Constitution but instead to look at the existinginstitutional structures and decide what we want for the future. It is the moment to look to the pastand analyse what went wrong - and I believe a lot has gone wrong and - and reform the EU
It's a start for you...

Exactly, and what guarantee do we have she will not change her stance again when elected.

My understanding is the BNP certainly has recieved financial support from extreme racist groups in America and no one in the BNP has come out and admitted this was a mistake which they regret and repudiate the said group.

In 2003, Marta applied to the Welsh Conservatives, asking to be put on their MEP list (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/2639447.stm)
Quote:
According to Ms Andreasen her motivation is " .. to fight for reform within the European Commission".
In 2004, she was accepted as a Dutch MEP candidate on Paul van Buitenen's list, but had to resign a couple of months later, because she did not meet the residency requirement (EUobserver)
Quote:
Ms Andreasen, a Spanish citizen, had announced last February that she would join forces with Mr Van Buitenen in his fight for transparency and accountability but has since not been able to formally live in the Netherlands – an official requirement for standing as a candidate in a Dutch party.
In a speech at a rally organised by the Democracy Movement and others in 2005, she stated (The Democracy Movement: Stop the Cheques - Marta Andreasen speech on EU fraud and corruption):
Quote:
And I asked myself, to whom was I not loyal? I wonder who can say that I'm not a true European, so to speak. I have been called eurosceptic and anti-European when I risked my job for defending the interests of the citizens of Europe.
That doesn't sound like an acknowledgement of euroscepticism, that sounds like a rejection of her being described as a eurosceptic.

As does her comment, reported by the Greens, from a Vote NO meeting in December 2004:
Quote:
She made clear that as someone who is not a Euro-sceptic, reform of the EU institutions is a much higher priority than a Constitution.
In 2006, a number of iterations of the same interview suggested that she was interested in getting her old job back (possibly because of her lack of accounting jobs since 2002) EUobserver:
Quote:
"It has not broken me," Ms Andreasen, who currently occasionally lectures on EU financial reform in Europe and the US, told EUobserver. "I never regret what I did. I wouldn't have done anything differently," she stated.

"Reinstating me might give a message to the public that the commission is serious about [financial] reforms."
BTW, Marta is still, AFAIK, in the middle of a legal appeal against the European Commission. The Official Journal gives basic details. http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2008:064:0060:0061:EN:PDF

I have no doubt at all that Marta wants to see reforms. What I do have doubts about is her desire for the UK, a nation to which she has no emotional, psychological or biological links, to withdraw from the EU.

I see no speeches, no interviews, no soundbites, that could not equally be interpreted as Marta saying what she thinks we want to hear.

Default For the spanish speakers...

This is an article date June 2003, and although it's easy to take the second quote translated out of context, at least there can be no ambiguity as to her feelings at that point!

"I WANT TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION. FOR THIS, I WANT MY JOB BACK. THE REASON WHY THE COMMISSION SUSPENDED ME WAS DISLOYALTY, BUT THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE'

"I DON'T WANT TO DESTROY THE COMMISSION. IN FACT, EVERYHTING THAT I'VE PROPOSED TO THEM [THE COMMISSION] HAS BEEN DONE WITH THE AIM OF IMPROVING THE SITUATION. I JUST HOPE THEY LISTEN TO MY RECOMENDATIONS AND CARRY OUT SOME REFROM...."

En 1999, el Ejecutivo comunitario sufrió una cadena de dimisiones por varios casos de corrupción
